Diagnosis-specific examination and assessment in the comfort of your home to understand your needs
Specialized 1-on-1 treatment time with your physical therapist. This time will be focused on establishing exercise routines (strength, balance, & endurance, etc), increasing functional movement in your home and out in the locations of your choice, and diagnosis-specific treatment for any symptoms you may have (such as dizziness, vertigo, pain, etc). We also provide caregiver training and training/recommendations on DME (medical equipment).
1) Do I need a doctor’s referral?
In California, you do not need a doctor's referral to start seeing a physical therapist. Under Direct Access law you are allowed to see a licensed physical therapist without a doctor’s referral for a maximum of 45 calendar days or 12 visits, whichever comes first. After that you will need a referral, so it is recommended to get a referral from your doctor either before or soon after starting our services.
2) Do you take my insurance?
PNPT is a "cash"-based service. We do not directly take insurance or contract with insurance companies.
Benefits to Cash-based:
No restrictions on frequency and number of visits
Longer visit lengths compared to most insurance-driven outpatient clinics
Convenience: save you time by driving to you
Teach you how to perform exercise in and navigate your own environment vs clinic setting
Much fewer patients on our caseload = we can provide more detailed, personalized care
3) Can I work with you AND go to outpatient PT clinic?
YES! You can see us at the same time as insurance-covered rehab = more therapy!
